
Add a programmed drum MIDI region to the Drum MIDI track Holding down the Command key, click the Kick’s All MIDI channel, the Snare Top’s All MIDI channel, and the rest of the drum kit’s individual tracks’ All MIDI channelsĢ1. In the routing pane, scroll down to reveal the MIDI inputs for the Kick, Snare Top, and other drum tracksĢ0. In the LUNA mixer’s Drum MIDI channel strip, click MIDI Outputġ9. Create a new instrument track and name it Drum MIDIġ8. Repeat steps 4 to 15 to setup the Snare Top track, and to setup individual tracks for all other drum instrumentsġ7. Copy the SD3 plug-in instance from the Kick track to the Snare track’s Instrument insertġ6. Add another instrument track and name it Snare Topġ5. In the upper right corner, click the memory usage meter, turn on the Cached switch and click Unload Drum Samples to save memoryġ4. On the Mixer tab, make sure the Kick track is not muted, and then mute all other tracksġ3. Repeat steps 7 through 9 for each instrument in the configured drum kitġ2. Under bleed mics, assign the bleed from instruments other than the kick to the Kick mixer channelġ1. Under close mics, assign the Kick close mic to the Kick mixer channelġ0. Click the Routing Presets dropdown, and click Clear Allĩ. Select the kick drum (or whatever the first instrument) from the Instrument drop downĨ. On the Mixer tab, at the top of the first channel strip, click the Show Bleed Options drop down, and click Route Instrument Microphonesħ. On the Drums tab, configure the drum kit to your liking by selecting the library and individual drums for this sessionĦ.

Add the SD3 plug-in to the Kick track’s Instrument insertĤ. Add an Instrument track and name it Kickģ. The method described here includes lots of mouse clicks during initial setup to make sure the bleed is in place on individual drum tracks.Ģ. With SD3, I prefer to enable bleed from all instruments on all microphones to more closely approximate multi-track recording conditions with real drums.
